“Hush, Hush” by Becca Fitzpatrick: Book Review

Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

If you love reading about angels, that have a dark side and forbidden love then Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick is for you. Nora Grey is 16-year-old girl who becomes drawn to her new biology partner Patch, even if this goes against her better judgement. After some terrifying encounters Nora isn’t sure if she can trust him. Patch is everywhere and knowns more about Nora then even her closet friends do. What is his secret? Can she trust him? Or is he dangerous?

The story is slow-paced at first but I was kept intrigued with the mystery surrounding Patch and if he is the reason for some of the terrifying encounters Nora had. Fitzpatrick’s characters are intriguing and developed well. Nora the leading heroine is not the typical girl for YA books, she is this geeky bookworm whom has no interest in boys and has no interest in social school events. Patch is this dark mysterious who has a lot of secrets, not all of them good and one secret which would unravel the man he really is not was. Fitzpatrick heightens the plot with bringing the plot of the story together in a shocking reveal, with unexpected events and not until the final few pages the main mystery remains unsolved.

Overall the book was good, and I can’t wait to read the second in the series.
